Event, Photo & Video Consent
Guidance for GCC events, meetings and community media. · Effective date: 21 September 2026
Why this matters
GCC may conduct online and physical meetings, community events and activities that are photographed, recorded or streamed. We want participation and consent to be handled respectfully.
Participation
Where photography, video or recording is planned, GCC should communicate this clearly before or during the event. Where individual consent is required, GCC will seek it through an appropriate mechanism.
Optional use
Members may be asked whether GCC may use their image, voice, name or event participation in community communications, website content or social media. Consent should be specific where appropriate and should not be assumed merely because someone attends an event.
Member responsibility
Members should also respect the privacy and preferences of other attendees and should not publish identifiable images or recordings of others where permission is reasonably required.
Future member platform
Any detailed media-consent controls in the member platform should allow members to review and update their choices where technically and legally appropriate.
